CLASSROOM NEWS
Tuesday, September 20th is a
HALF DAY of school!
It was a very successful week in third grade! The students are starting to become more familiar some of the routines and procedures we’ve covered.
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend
Curriculum Night last week. I know it’s
a busy time of year and I appreciate you fitting us in your schedule. If you we unable to attend, I sent home a RED
folder with all of the information. Please send in the permission form that talks about Facebook, Twitter, etc. as soon as possible. Thanks!
READING
Our reading stamina is amazing! I am totally impressed with the solid 30
minutes of reading this class can do already.
This is an uninterrupted time for independent reading where students
choose “just right” books and practice reading skills.
WRITING
The class had a walking museum to share their
very creatively decorated writer’s notebooks!
Each one is so unique and really reflects each writer. I can’t wait to read all of the stories and
ideas!

MATH
We are working in unit 1! Friday was our first game day and it was a blast! Click HERE for the Family Letter. Each student received a login card in order
to access the EDM4 games, home-links, and helpful videos. This card is stapled into the front cover of the
assignment notebook that is inside of the binder. Please click HERE to access this site.

SCIENCE
Our first unit covers earth materials and landforms. This is a vocabulary rich
unit. I will be sending home articles,
vocab. cards, and other materials to help your child review. These materials will be located in the
SCIENCE folder in the binder.
MI
STUDIES
We are learning about the Great Lakes Region in
the first unit. Click HERE to read more
about what will be covered.
